Assistant Principal

I have served in public education since 1999. I have had the opportunity to work in Clayton County and Douglas County as a Language Arts Teacher, Administrative Assistant, Graduation Coach, Academic Coordinator of the PLC and Virtual Academy, and now Assistant Principal at Douglas County High School.

I graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a degree in English Education. After a few years in the classroom, I decided to pursue a career in Educational Leadership and earned degrees from the University of Phoenix, Jacksonville State University, and Mercer University.

Although I enjoy being an educator, I love being a mom even more! I have two sons, Dishawn and Jonas, that keep me very busy. Dishawn is a graduate of Douglas County High School so I am even more proud to now be a Tiger!

This year my focus will be on assisting ninth grade students and their families in having a successful year. We will implement Operation 4G - Goals, Grades, Grind, and Graduation. By the end of their ninth grade year I want each of our Freshmen Tigers to have a clear idea of their future goals and the path they need to take to reach their goals.

In addition to my work as a mother and an educator, I am a proud member of the Douglas-Carroll-Paulding Counties Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about the great things happening at DCHS!
