Tiger of the Month
BRITTANY HAGUE
Douglas County High School is proud to announce that Brittany Hague is the Tiger of the Month for the month of November. The teachers elected Brittany for her over-all excellence in character and her commitment to learning. Brittany aspires to be a pharmacist, and has been given early acceptance to the pharmacy school at Campbell University in North Carolina. Her proud parents are Karen and Shawn Hague from Greensboro , NC. With a full class load of AP and Honors classes, this tiger pushes herself to be the best she can be. Her involvement goes beyond the classroom, however; she is a leader in FBLA, SGA, and Spanish National Honor Society. Her British literature teacher, Mrs. Cheryl Johnson-Herring says, "Brittany is a very astute and conscientious student who is genuinely committed to her studies. Her work ethic is impeccable and she remains focused and diligent in every endeavor. I so appreciate having her as a student this year. Her positive attitude and excellent character are truly admirable qualities." Brittany was nominated by Ms. Angela Holley, her anatomy and physiology teacher, who says, "Brittany is one of the most humble and caring students I've ever known. She relates well with other students because she is a kind and non-judgmental young lady who is mature beyond her years." Brittany's activities are well-balanced; along with her academic life, she also plays basketball at DCHS and has volunteered in community benefits such as Relay for Life, March of Dimes, and Music in the Park. As the recipient of this honor, Brittany will receive a $50 Hightower prize. Her love for learning and her drive for personal excellence truly make Brittany an exceptional student that we're proud to call a DCHS Tiger!
