Suzanne Helms is a life-long resident of Douglasville.  She attended Arbor Station and South Douglas Elementary schools, Fairplay Middle and graduated from Alexander High School.  Suzanne received her Bachelor's Degree in Education and Master's Degree in Media and is currently working on her Specialist degree in Instructional Technology.  She began teaching in Cobb County in 1998 and spent ten years with Brighten Academy Charter School as a teacher and Media Specialist.  This is Suzanne's second year at DCHS.  Suzanne and her husband Jeff have one son, Duncan.  She enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
