I have always been destined to become a teacher. I am from Marietta, Georgia and I come from a large family of four siblings. I attended Marietta High School and from the moment I started taking Spanish, I knew I wanted to be a Spanish teacher. In high school and college I acted on my instincts to teach children with opportunities such as interning in A.L. Burruss Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia as well as working for a summer camp for Marietta City Schools. I also volunteered to tutor at Chase Street Elementary School in Athens, Georgia as well as translated for parent-teacher conferences. At the University of Georgia, I was accepted into the very competitive Foreign Language Education program where I began my studies as a teacher. But why Spanish? The language has always touched my heart and I have a passion for everything in regards to the culture surrounding it. My goal as a teacher is to teach students how to use the language effectively, but most importantly to love the language as much as I do. My studies in the Foreign Language cohort I believe have prepared me to teach a new generation of children how to become world citizens.
